I don't usually like Broadway musicals, but this one was slightly better than I was anticipating. There was a fair amount of singing, and even some dancing, but it didn't seem as 'flashy' as the annoying broadway musicals I dislike. There were even a few funny bits where they made fun of everyone from boy bands to republicans.
Wonderland doesn't tell the typical "Alice In Wonderland" story. Instead, Alice is a recently separated single mother living in Queens, NYC. She was supposed to find her way into Wonderland as a child, but was 30 years too late. When she does arrive, she has her own set of adventures different from the traditional Alice in Wonderland story.
The sets and costumes are all nice and colorful, and many of the traditional Alice characters were redone creatively. There wasn't anything special or memorable about the show, but it did provide an entertaining evening out.

Wonderland is a modern twist on the story of Alice in Wonderland. The story follows an adult Alice who lives in Queens, NYC and is trying to find herself. The show has many similar elements to the story, with some funny and clever twists. They were creative in some of the ways they portrayed things that were possible in a cartoon but would be impossible in a live production. The show is a musical and has a lot of the traditional musical singing and dancing, but a bit more modern. There was a lot more comedy than I was expecting, and some of the jokes were very contemporary. It was a traditional childrens story, but with themes and jokes for the adults mixed in.

Went to see Wonderland this week. Wasn't expecting much, however we spent a magical night laughing, and rocking out to the great songs. The costumes were clever, the sets imaginative, and the actors sang beautifully. The story is a great family show with a wonderful ending. Dreams can come true!
