Sistas: The Musical
Sistas is an uplifting musical journey, of a multi-generational African-American Family. The narrative is stitched together using the lyrics of songs that perfectly capture the mood and speaks to the issues of each period and time. In the end, the women find strength in each others' stories and arrive at a way to best honor the memory of their beloved Grandma - a seminal figure in their development as strong and accomplished women. After a matriarch’s death, the women in the family clean Grandma’s attic and find love and old memories packed away, and in the processing hit tunes that trace the history of black women, from the trials of the 1930's through the Girl Groups of the 60's to the empowerment of the 90's.Average Rating: based on 2 votes
