Saw this in 2008. Glad we did.
Much more elaborate & spectacular than the version we saw in Toronto.
We enjoyed it but there are many other great plays out there.
Been there, done that!
I saw the show in 2008 and I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much from the show, but it was an entertaining evening.
The entertainment begins when you enter the theater. Radio City Music Hall, opened in the 1930's, has been restored and looks quite extravagant. The theater is huge, with almost 6000 seats, and has a glowing feel with its ambient lighting.
The Rockettes, more than 30 of them, all danced perfectly in time and place. The show had no story, but was all about visual, flashy, entertainment. Our show included a 3D video of Santa flying over NYC, and a figure skating number. Much of the music and dances were themed for Christmas.
The one thing I found really annoying was that people were constantly taking flash photographs. At times, it felt like there were strobe lights coming from the audience. I can understand why many theaters ask for no photography at all.
