REVIEWS

This show is joyous and raucous but may not appeal to all. It's a very "New York" show with gags that even some natives won't get....also helps to be a Latino New Yorker. If you do get it, you will absolutely love this show.

I really thought I would love this show after hearing so many good things about it, but I was a bit disappointed. There wasn't much to it. The story was simple. The dancing was just OK, and I didn't find the humorous lines to be all that funny. It was still not a bad evening out, but it didn't meet my expectations.

We need joy these days. In the Heights offers it in boatloads. It might not be a show for the over analytical, but it doesn't try to be. I'm incurable pessimistic, but this show raises even my spirits. Don't go if you're looking for deep thoughts about our society--but for the days you need a smile (and who couldn't use that right about now?) head over to the Richard Rogers Theater and let the joy wash over you.
