Ann

Texas Governor Ann Richards, who wasn’t born with a silver foot in her mouth but a sliver tongue instead, rose to national prominence after giving the keynote address at the 1988 Democratic National Convention. The first women elected to Texas governor in her own right, she was renowned for her wit and support of women’s rights. The late Ann Richards was elected governor of Texas despite being female, funny, independent and a recovering alcoholic. It's a close-up and fond look at an iconic American leader.
