
The Oresteia
Aeschylus's monumental ancient Greek trilogy ("Agamemnon," "The Libation Bearers," "The Eumenides") about a curse that devastates the royal house of Atreus at the close of the Trojan War. King Agamemnon is betrayed and assassinated by his queen, Clytemnestra. She is killed in revenge by her son, Orestes, who is then pursued by the Furies for the crime of matricide. (Drama)
