REVIEWS
I found The Lion King to be a really enjoyable Broadway show. I didn't have high expectations going in, but it turned out to be quite fun.
The story of the musical follows the story of the movie, so if you've seen the movie, you will already be familiar with the story.
My wife and I don't yet have kids, but if we did, they would certainly enjoy it too. The Lion King is incredibly bright and colorful with lots of movement and energy. The music, like the music from the movie, is also quite catchy.
The actors playing the lions use a unique "lion head" device that sits over their head. I thought it was a bit odd at first, but I got used to it by the end and thought it was pretty clever.
This show is a great for the kids, and the adults will enjoy it too. If you've seen the movie, you'll know what to expect from the show. The costumes were what made this play magical. It was a beautiful production.
Been to about a dozen broadway shows, best one by far.
